I’m not sure it gets easier than this or more friggin delicious. I might have to go to the dentist after this week challenge of caramel recipes, but it’s worth it. I’d also like to note that I am a mom of a 2 1/2 year old and manage our farm with milking goats, 13 goats total, over 50 birds and 11.5 acre property..not to mention all of our trees are shedding their leaves and someone’s gotta take care of that. I say this to help convince you that, yes, these recipes are seriously easy and there is so much you can do to jazz up your life with a little bit of our caramel. This stuff is like liquid gold. Okay, back to these apples…
3 large apples
12 wooden Popsicle sticks (or skewers)
8-16 oz Caramel Sauce
Optional toppings: Justin’s Peanut Butters, sprinkles, nuts
Line a baking sheet with parchment paper; set aside.
Cut the apples from stem to bottom into 1/2-inch-thick slices. You should get about 4 slices per apple. Use a paring knife to remove the seeds from the center slices, then cut a small horizontal slit in the bottom of each apple slice. Insert a Popsicle stick into each slit. Place on the baking sheet.
Carefully dip 1 of the apple slices in the caramel and let the excess drip off. Place on the prepared baking sheet. Sprinkle with toppings if desired. Repeat with the remaining slices. Refrigerate, making sure the baking sheet sits flat, for 30 minutes to let the caramel set. Enjoy!
